Britt's Christmas Adventure

This year we had a little help from Santa.  Yep, our special helper was none other than Jeremy!
You see, Jeremy and Britt were still carrying on their little tradition of getting each other back and it was Jeremy's turn. He wanted to do something really good and Britt did goad him on about being original. So, with the help of Me and Ashley (and, of course, Santa) we planned the best activity.
First of all, Santa sent Britt's present earlier than the rest. It was an Ipod touch 5th gen. Jeremy wrapped it in a whole roll of duck tape. (The box it came in, not the ipod. I would have hung him from the rafters if he did that!)
 We placed it in a lock box and hung it from the rafters in the crawl space above the house. He then attached a rock to a clue and then wrapped it in the lock box package and put it under the tree, to be lost until Christmas day.

Christmas morning the last present to be opened was the package. And this is what it said.

 

 

The first clue-

Your present, Dear Brittany, is a different kind.

One for you and one for another.

For Cousin Jeremy asked for something too.

And Santa loves to make everyone happier.

 

Your gift is somewhere near

Close to where you sit.

Go look around and search for something

That once a year I fit.

It’s cold and dark and I get a chill just thinking of this place

But then it’s hot and hits the spot and puts some color in my face.

 This, of course, was the fireplace. Inside was this next clue. 

HaHaHa… Jeremy is not quite done.

He likes to watch you squirm.

This next clue is somewhere

a bit more long-term.

It’s dirty, messy, and very dusty.

Your dad should fix it soon.

And it is full of things not used as much

And there is a great view of the moon.

This clue sent her outside to the shed. It was still dark and words like I hate Jeremy were escaping her mouth over and over.. Next clue-

So proud of you, my dear!

You are getting close.

The next clue is somewhere where

You love to smile and pose.

You gaze and gaze, looking on

And primp yourself up sweet

And underneath I sit, waiting patiently for you to meet.

This clue was under the sink. And, amazingly it took her a while to figure it out! I thought for sure it would be the easy one. Next clue- 

Super job so far, my darling Britt

Jeremy would be so proud.

This next clue is getting cold

And somewhere not so loud.

Ice cream, chicken, and pudding pops

Are all around, you see.

Cold pizzas, Turkeys,  and popsicles

Are dying to be free.

 We have three freezers so this would seem easy but it took her a while. Ashley put it on the outside of the back fridge close to the back door. Next clue-

Very good dear girl, but I am not quite done just yet.

For Jeremy wants to laugh the last because of your cute bet.

Now go to the place where Jeremy sat not too long ago.

The place where he would look down and smile

Joey’s favorite place to go.

Up you go, don’t be shy, just think carefully

Of A special gift to you from me

Wrapped lovingly by sweet Jeremy.

 

She finally figured this one out when Joey piped up that he wishes he could play in the crawl space above the house. And then Britt had to get a ladder and get herself up there, and it was still dark! Attached to the lock box was a math equation that opened it up. Britt does not do math so this was not good!

Finally she opened it up to find duct tape. Ten minutes later, cursing Jeremy the whole time, she got down to the box and found her ipod! It was a fun adventure and Jeremy did it again! The bet continues on till next time!

(And I get none of the blame! Life is sweet!!!)
