my weekend part one

Busy weekend. Travis is off to Sacramento to spend some time with his dad and brothers. 

Why is it that the fun always happens when one of us is out of town?

For instance, it was Christmas Formal and Ashley is having her group come back to the house to play games after pictures were taken. Brittany had a few friends come over earlier in the day to make cookies (and flirt.... come on! I knew what you were up to..not born yesterday)
Well, Brittany sent Mackenzie to time out in her room. I am not sure why. I was helping Ashley get ready.
Anyway, I get back and Mackenzie is still in her room. Britt and Co are on the couch. Joey and Zach were in the back yard doing strange boy stuff and Mackenzie came out telling everyone she peed in the bowl because she was in time out.
After I scolded her a bit, I sent her to the bathroom to clean out the bowl. I sent Ashley on her way, she looked beautiful!, and started making scalloped potatoes for the ward party that night.
15 minutes later.....
Zach yells for me to come to the bathroom. Sweet Mackenzie forgot to turn the water off after she cleaned out the bowl and the sink was clogged... there was water everywhere.... about 1/4 inch of it down the hallway, trickeling down into the sunken living room, where a puddle was already forming.  We quickly turned off the water, dislodged the clog, and I tried really, really hard to not yell at Mackenzie.
I gotta say right now how thankful I am I don't have carpet. I really, really to get some but am so pleased I don't have any!

We got towels, mops, wet/dry vac, and lots of time and cleaned all the water up. Britt had to leave to help take pictures for Ashley. I barely got the potatoes off the stove before they went mushy.  And we had it all cleaned us just as the dance group go back to the house to play games!

And Mackenzie is no longer allowed to spend time out in her room! And she knows, knows, KNOWS she has to turn the water off when she is done!
