Last night me and the little ones were practicing our phonograms when the older kids returned from mutual. They came running into the house with news. Across the street in the vacant house that is being flipped there are ten + sheriff vehicles parked and the deputies are gathered on the front lawn.
Wow! Nothing big has happened on our street for such a long time and us being concerned citizens (in other words, just plain nosy) went out front to investigate further.
So while my little ones were being babysat by Phineas and Ferb and a screaming Candace, Ash, Britt and I took our regular seats on Ashley's swing and began our observation.
Deputy and dog go in with flashlight.
They look around.
They come out.
Could it be drugs?
Is someone in there?
Could it be something more sinister?
These and many other thoughts are circling our little swing.
All the while Mother nature will not be outdone by the Sheriff's office.
The lightening storm is beautiful!
No rain, though.
Our relief society President drives by, circles and then pulls into our driveway.
We joke about what might be happening.
Brittany says she wants to pet one.
The dog, not the deputy, she clarifies.
(I love Britt.)
Finally Travis comes home about an hour later. He is the brave one amongst us chickens to go across the street and ask what if going on.
Training.
Yep, that is it. All that waiting and observing, and being nosy only to find out it was a training exercise.
But hey, we got a great lightening storm out of it, silly time with my girls, and the little ones got some great ideas on what to do today from those who know best!

That is one funny story! I can't believe it was just training--we saw the lightning storm too on our swing as well--in the backyard--it was AWESOME.
What a great story! It wouldn't have been near as fun if you knew they were just training. I loved listening to the thunder continously rumble.
