We went to Benson this weekend for Caden's baptism. It was very nice.
We stayed for the Fourth of July's festivities that included a parade. It was fun!
The Barneys are really sweet and let the kids ride on the trailer from the car lot. They get t-shirts and a prime spot in the parade where they can throw otter pops. A fun event!
Mackenzie has been talking about it for weeks.
The trailer loaded up!
Britt and Dani riding on the top of the truck, enjoying the weather and looking for cute guys!!!
It was a success!
Hot dogs, watermelon, and soda waited when we were done,
Every year this is what they do
And sometimes we get to go.
The weather was cooperating, not too, too hot (at least in the shade).
But I gotta tell you I was kind of disappointed at the amount of tractors. There was only 10!
Usually there is over 20 but not this year. I was disappointed...
really.
I like seeing the differences of the tractors, the color,
(the candy, but there were no kids to pretend to pick them up for)
this was one of my favorites!!!
There were much more trailers pulling organizations. They even had a band. Very cool! And then the big trailer carrying the trucks turns the corner and there are ALL the Barneys, waving, the little ones with white shirts stained from their own personal otter pop that leaked.
Then there is Ashley holding down a few little girls who are super excited and about to pop out of the truck... literally!
And then there was Randy. Yes, he decided to be Ashley's personal match making service. Oh, and with Randy nothing is small. He inlisted his brothers and his son in on the caper and the next thing you know, The young gentleman was seated next to Ashley on the truck.
Poor Ashley
Poor Seth.
They were both good sports about it and seemed to get along pretty well. Everyone got a good laugh at it and it was nice to see Ashley smiling again.
Randy, his dad, and his brothers (and Dakota, of course). They were all in on it!
After the parade. Thank goodness there was hot dogs and soda!
That was the day. Then traveling home before the rain caught up with us.
We ended the day watching a few fireworks and then the lightening in the skies as they gave their own show.
