A couple of weeks ago Ashley has surgery on her wrist. She had a ganglion cyst that has been causing problems for a few years now and since she is going into massage therapy we decided to get it out before she started school.
She was a little freaked out about it all. The cutting, the lack of healing, the being put to sleep and then the recovery. It was all kind of overwhelming.
But she had a blessing the night before, by her dad and her best friend. That helped.
She went into surgery laughing and being silly.
I took a picture to remember the day but she threatened my life so I will have to leave it to your imagination!
The doctor was very easygoing and even took pictures of the cyst so she could see it, although at the time she had no desire at all. (But that changed later on that day, lol)
In fact, after the surgery the doctor came out to show us the pic and everything. Very nice doctor.
This past Friday Ash went to have it checked out and the Doc was patient and playful with the little ones who had to tag along because it was in the middle of band camp and no one could watch them. That is a sign of a patient and cool person - someone who can put up with Kenzie and Joey for any period of time!
Speaking of the little ones, Thursday we went to Mesa High to see Luke, Mrs. Hagen's son. I saw him earlier while cleaning up for breakfast and I figured Karalee could use the distraction. We watched the guard practice. We even snuck a peek at the base drums. Mackay let us come in an watch and Joey loved every minute of it. And then we went to hear the clarinets. Luke is going to play one at Franklin this year.
After, when Mrs. Hagen came to join us, the little ones took a tour of the auditorium as only little ones can. They played tag. And then Mr. Brooks joined Mrs. Hagen who sat and visited. And the little ones continued to play tag! But this time they were playing in the pit! But Mr. Brooks never said anything. Can I just say, WHEEEW!
